Last week I handed out scripture memory cards for Ephesians 4:2, and the part that’s easy to memorize and recite is basically just ALWAYS BE HUMBLE AND GENTLE.
I just listened to this podcast* that I HIGHLY!!! recommend all parents listening to… and the speaker defines Humility as “being as interested in other people as you are in yourself.” He goes on to say that a simple, practical way to begin teaching humility to even small children is through chores.
This was confirmation for me that we need to begin assigning chores to Judah, as he is a part of this family and the culture we want to foster in our home is not one where he is entertained while we (parents) do all the work, but where he learns to participate. Sounds great when I just say it… but it’s felt like a daunting task to begin working through.
Cue this week’s craft… we are going to be making simple chore charts!! I’ll have all the materials, we will just put them together, together.
Here’s a great blog with a chart of chore lists for different ages.

Pray
If it helps you to meditate on these items before our meeting, here’s what you can think about bringing to the prayer session…
God can hear us any time we pray, but there’s something special that happens when we come together to seek God. Let’s come with a heart ready to encounter God… He promises 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them! (Mt. 18)
Our prayer flow:
(1) Adoration - praise for who God is (this is who God is)
(2) Confession - repentance leads to life
(3) Thanksgiving - thankfulness for what God has done
(4) Supplication - ask God for what you need!
p.s. an email will go out this weekend for final week of the Gentleness Challenge
